The Lego Minifig Timeline

I loved Legos growing up, I'm not sure why I still don't get some new ones and build something...anyway Gizmodo has worked with Lego to painstakingly collect and catalog almost every minifig ever produced into a photographic timeline. You will be able to see the evolution of the iconic figure, from the very first sets in the 70s that you saw in our exclusive tour of the secret historic Lego vault to the latest and greatest ones in 2008. Sensory overload ahead.

Rambrew

The Nashville Jewish Film Festival is this week. A print got shipped to us from Israel, but for some reason they covered the box in movie posters. One was Woody Allen's latest Casandra's Dream and the other was Rambo. Both in Hebrew. Cool. I like how it looks like he's really been through war.

Alien Lifecycle block print

Kustom Thrills Tattoo shop had a Monster Art Show opening Sunday. I made a three block prints of the Alien lifecycle. Here's my process.

First some sketches that I went over with with a charcoal pencil.

Then I laid the drawings on the blocks and tried to rub the images onto them, this kinda worked. Then I outlined them in more detail again on the blocks.

Here's the Alien egg carved out.

Here's the facehugger and my work space.

Egg and Facehugger blocks.

Alien warrior block.

All three.

She's always buzzin' just like neon...

My assignment from New Zealand yesterday was to take pictures of downtown neon signs. I did this during the day so most aren't on, but I'm going to go back and take night time pictures for comparision. Also driving there, there we're lots I missed, but I'll make a mid-town picture set to. Here are few from Downtown Nashville, most Brodway and 2nd Ave. Except the Boscos's one is in Hillsboro Village, and iPhone cam caught the refresh on the neon which was interesting.

George's Library is cool, but check out Jay's

The library in Skywalker Ranch at the Big House is the most amazing I've ever personally been in, but check out Jay Walker's.

But there's a crowd outside the filming of MSNBC's Hardball with Chris Matthews tent, an Obama rally of about 3000 people parading up Wedgewood Ave and Belmont Blvd, there's me and Michelle at Hardball and a kid in a mighty backpack that kept smashing into her and just folks milling around...

outside the Curb Center, horses and the town hall folk's buses coming in
